Lutheran SGO

Lunch Program

Students may bring their own lunch or they may purchase a hot lunch provided by Northern Wells Community School District through Ossian Elementary School and the National School Lunch Program.

Hot lunches include milk. Lunches can be purchased individually for $2.85 from the school office. Extra milk if purchased separately is $.50 (cost is set by Northern Wells Community School and is subject to change). Applications for free and reduced lunches are available in the school office. If applicable, reduced price lunches are $.40 each.

Bethlehem is charged for each hot lunch served. Families should pre-pay for the lunches. The number of lunches paid for will be communicated regularly to the families. If the amount owed for lunches by a student is more than $15.00 and no arrangement has been made, the student may receive a sandwich and a carton of milk. This policy is in line with that of Northern Wells Community Schools.

Student Transportation

Northern Wells Community Schools (NWCS) provides transportation for Bethlehem students within the NWCS district. Your child will be picked up at your home at the time determined by NWCS and taken to the closer elementary school. At that point your child will board a shuttle bus for transportation to Bethlehem Lutheran School. At the end of the school day, a shuttle bus delivers Bethlehem students to the local elementary school for a transfer to the bus that makes the home delivery.

Bethlehem Lutheran School generally follows the NWCS calendar and schedule. This includes schedule changes due to weather conditions. Bethlehem students riding the buses are under the same rules and regulations set up by the NWCS for their students. Parents are welcome to transport their own children to and from school. Classes begin at 9:10 a.m. and students are dismissed at 3:10 pm.
