Academics
Our Curriculum Overview
Christ-Centered Academics
Our Mission Statement:
“Bethlehem Lutheran School works with parents to guide their children in gaining wisdom, pursuing virtue, and developing skills for life with God, neighbors, and self in this world and in the world to come.”
Bethlehem Lutheran School provides a distinctively Christian education while also striving for academic excellence in all fields of knowledge. This means we don’t divide learning between the so-called religious and secular sides of life. Instead, as a Lutheran school, we teach and uphold all that is good, true, and beautiful found in every area of life. All truth comes from the one true God, our Creator and Redeemer, whether it be found in the Bible, mathematics, the observation of nature, history, literature, or art. This also means that Biblical principles form the foundation of every subject taught at our school. By studying all of these sources of knowledge as Christians, our students learn how to think and what to do as they live out holy lives of faith in God and love for their neighbors.
“Christian education is not merely a teaching of the regular subjects plus religion. Religion must permeate, influence and give true meaning to all of the subjects taught. All subjects achieve the highest meaning and purpose only as they are filled with the aim of serving our fellow man to the glory of God.”
